Welcome To The 54th Masonic District of Pennsylvania
"Freemasonry teaches moral lessons and self-knowledge through an approach to life which seeks to reinforce thoughtfulness for others, kindness in the community, honesty in business, courtesy in society and fairness in all things. Members are urged to regard the interests of the family as paramount but importantly Freemasonry also teaches and practices concern for people, care for the less fortunate and help for those in need. Membership is open to men of all faiths who are law-abiding, of good character and who acknowledge a belief in God. Freemasonry is a multi-racial and multi-cultural organization. It has attracted men of goodwill from all sectors of the community into membership. There are similar organizations for women."
Are you looking to become a Mason?
First, please take a look at our brochure, "You Are Invited".
You can download it HERE. (Requires Adobe PDF Reader)
To join, all you have to do is ask a Mason. Preferably a Mason you know who is a member of the lodge you wish to join or ask the Secretary of the lodge you wish to join. You must fill out a Petition in your own hand and have two Masons that have known you for at least one year sign your Petition.
If you still can not find any Masons you know:
- Visit or call the Lodge you wish to join. Talk with the Secretary or some other member before a meeting and get aquatinted with the members and officers of the Lodge.
- Or come to any of the fund raisers, open events and open meetings to get acquainted with the Lodge members.
- Look at the Lodges on our "Lodges" page to find one close to you.
You can download a blank petition to fill out HERE.
